A purpose-built cybersecurity lab has opened on the Apapa campus, giving the B.Sc. Cybersecurity cohort a dedicated space for the exercise-driven half of the degree.
The room is configured for live incident-response scenarios rather than lecture delivery. Students work in teams against a scripted intrusion, and are assessed on how they reason about an adversary as much as on which tool they reach for.
Why it matters here
Nigeria's financial and logistics sectors are among the most attacked in West Africa, and the shortfall in qualified defenders is measurable. The degree exists because of that gap, and the lab is the part of it that cannot be taught from a textbook.
The facility supports the third and fourth year of the degree in particular, where network security, digital forensics, offensive security and incident response sit.
