Accessibility

Wha we built to make this site usable, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when it fails yo.

Last updated

This site is built t meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is a floor we set for ourselves at the start of the rebuild rather than a claim added at the end, and the items below describe what was actually done.

What is in plac

  • Ever colour pairing in the palette was checked by computation, not by eye, and passes AA.
  • One H1 per page, with headings in logical order.
  • The navigation menus work fully from the keyboard. Arrow keys move between items, and Escape closes and returns focus to where it came from.
  • Every pointer interaction has a keyboard and touch equivalent. Nothing is reachable by hover alone.
  • Visible focus outlines throughout, drawn in a colour that passes contrast on both grounds.
  • Tap targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
  • Motion respects prefers-reduced-motion: animation stops, and content is shown in its final state.
  • No horizontal scrolling at 320 pixels wide.
  • Real labels on every form field, with no placeholder-only inputs.
  • Images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative images are marked as such.

Known limitations

  • Video is hosted on YouTube. Captions on that video are outside our control, and we are pursuing them.
  • Some published portraits come from low-resolution source files and may appear soft when enlarged.
  • Downloadable curriculum documents are not yet available, so their accessibility cannot yet be assessed.

Tell us when it fails

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, write to info@nutm.edu.ng and describe what happened, what you were using, and what you expected. We treat that as a defect report, not as feedback.

If you need information from this site in another format, ask and we will provide it.
